Here Comes My Girl

Good Evening, I managed another card today so hopefully my mojo is coming back.  My card to share is for this week's challenge set by the ladies at Humbug Hall - Here Come The Girls.  My image is from Charmed Cards - Charming Christmas.  I have used a ready coloured image and glittered the white bits of her dress and cape, made a bit of a mess grounding her though.  The bp is Smudgey Holly from the Artylicious Seasons Greetings Cd and I added some holly from my Christmas stash.  Sorry the pics a bit squint.

I hope you like my card and many thanks for your visit

Less is More

Good Evening, not been around again for the past few days.  Seem to have lost my mojo somewhere along the way.  I have managed to make a card today though.  This is for the current Less is More Challenge - Recipe:  Take 3 Challenges.  I have ended up with six:  Week 7 - Masculine; Week15 -Embossing; Week 18 Monochrome; Week 22 - Shades of Blue;  Week 25 - Buttons.; Week 27 - Colours of you Flag, Blue and White for Scotland.  The images are from a set of acrylic stamps and I have absolutely no idea what maufacturer and cannot even remember buying them.  I found them in a pocket folder full of acrylic stamps, there was also another masculine set that I didn't know I had.  I stamped with Colorbox pigment ink and embossed with clear ep and then cut out the images. The sentiment was computer generated

As all the bits of card are from my snippets box  I am entering my card into Jules' Crafty Snippet Challenge at Always With A Heart.

Silent Night

Good Afternoon, sorry I've been awol again.  The Labrynthitis took hold when I finished the meds I got from the doctor, trouble was it was over the weekend so couldn't get more pills until Monday afternoon.  They are kicking in again now, but am still spinning around a bit.  So apologies for not visiting and commenting on your blogs, will hopefully be able to manage a few later on this evening.

My card to share is for this week's Less is More - Things That Move. I think my stable scene and star both fit into that category.  The is my 6th attempt, I was trying to gold emboss everything and made a complete pigs ear of  it.  Finally, gave up the embossing and decided to work with black and white and I got the card made in about 15 minutes!!       The image is a Hobby Art stamp that I found in a sale box in my local craft shop, the star is Clarity both stamped with Archival Black ink and and matted onto some black card from my box, the sentiment is computer generated.

I am also entering my card into these challenges:
Bah Humbug Challenge - Something New, both of my stamps; and
Ooh La La Creations - No background papers.

I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting.

Gone Fishing!

Good Evening, late on parade today.  Had to go into town to do the food shopping, a 50 mile trip, so not managed to make any cards today.  But, I have fallen lucky because I have a card in my folder that I made a couple of weeks back for a customer, which hasn't made it to my blog. This card will be perfect for the challenge set by Rainbow Lady this week - Your Song Choice, make a card that fits the title of a song.  The image is from the Thomas Kincade CD from Joanna Sheen. The bps are Funky Fairys, the sentiment is computer generated and I have embellished with Card Candy.

I hope you like my card, many thanks for visiting.

Mark 2!

Good Afternoon, my card to share today is one that my daughter asked me to make.  She makes jewelry and has recently been asked by a friend if she would consider doing jewelry making parties for the tweenie age group.  She thought about it and said yes and now she has two parties booked.  This card is for the birthday girl. You can see some of the jewelry Trudy makes here, she hasn't posted recently but has a facebook page and some jewelry for sale on Folksy.

As you have no doubt noticed this is practically a replica of yesterday's card - different colour, different layout.  I have done this for a reason.  It fits two challenges:  My Time To Craft - G is for... in this case Gingham and Girl.  I am also entering my card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Eyes Down, Look In.  I have picked the centre line across of the Bingo card - Button, Ribbon, Free - a flower.

Card Recipe:
Papers - Cuddly Buddly
Image -  Cuddly Buddly
Ribbon, Button, flower and Cuttlebugged cs from my stash
Computer generated sentiment.

I hope you like my repeated card and many thanks for stopping by.

Snippets

Good Evening, my card to share today is for Jules' Crafy Snippits Challenge.  The bp and mirri card have been layered together and lying in a scrap box for months. The strip orangey strips are from a piece of Encaustic Art that I did last year sometime, I can only do abstract pieces and then don't know what to do with them when I have finished.  A few months back I bought some Marbling Inks from Create and Craft as soon as they arrived I had a play and then put them away.  The other strip on my card is from  my play session, and has been lying in a basket ever since.  I made the bow with a little bit of left over ribbon, the air was blue because it kept slipping off my bowmaker because it was so short.  After matting the strips I didn't have a piece of gold mirr big enough to mount the image, but I found a bit of matt gold instead and there was enough left over to die cut the number and mount the sentiment, which was computer generated.  The image is a digi from Cuddly Buddly, which has been sitting coloured in my box for a couple of months.

I followed Sketch 68 from this week's Sketch and Stash Challenge, there is nothing new on my card except the sentiment, which was  made especially for this card, but everything else has definitely been neglected lol.

I hope you like my card, thank you so much for visiting and for the lovely comments you leave

Siku and Shiya

Good Evening, late today as we were out for lunch with our neighbours who have just returned from a month is France, so we had a lot to catch up on.  My card to share today is for this week's Bah Humbug Challenge - Kiss-mas.  I really thought I might have to miss this one, but after trailing through my digi stamps I found this one from Mo Manning, which I haven't used yet, and I have had it for at least two years!  The biggest reason for not using it was the fine small detail, but with the new fine tips for my Promarkers it was so much easier.  The bp is from the  Artylicious Seasons Greetings cd, ribbon from my stash and finished off with three white brads.  Should have been snowflake brads but I put the holes too close together.  All in all a very simple card.

I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting.

Less is More - One Layer Card

Good Evening, my card to share today is for this week's Less is More Challenge - A One Layer Card and Use Inks.  I decided to make a frame with an ink pad this week, never tried this before.  I placed the largest and next sized octagonal nestie together onto a piece of scrap card, held in place with some tape and and cut them out.  I placed the piece of card with the octagonal hole onto my card and then placed the cutout of the smaller one inside the hole.  Then I used a bit of old household sponge to ink in between the two pieces to create the frame.  I  stamped this horse image with Momento Tuxedo Black, used the same for the frame, I am not competely certain but I think it is a Crafter's Companion stamp, but I may be wrong as it is an unmounted one that I have had for ages.  I printed the sentiments directly onto the card before trimming and decorating.

Thank you Mandy and Chrissie for this challenge because I have been tearing my hair out trying to come up with a card for my neighbour to give to her husband for their anniversary.  He doesn't like anything too fussy and when I found the horse stamp I new this would be the right card for him, as he loves horse racing and is a keen watercolourist, he has painted a lot of horse pictures.

I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting.

The Moon's a Balloon

Good Afternoon,  my card to share today is for this week's challenge over at CraftyAnn's Challenge Blog - Scallops and/or Fancy Borders.   The image is from Pollycraft and coloured with Promarkers.  The bps are from a 6x6 pad that I picked up at our one and only craft shop.  The name on the front is Cosmo Cricket, never heard of them before and I have just noticed that they are Made in China.  In real life they are not so orangey, more of a deep golden yellow,  I have taken about six or seven pics and the result is always the same.  The number 4 was stamped with a Papermania Number Stamp Set using BignJuicy Foliage.  The sentiment is computer generated, I have used a Martha Steward punch for the central strip and the cs was in my oddment basket, the flower gems are from my stash.

I am also entering my card into:
Rainbow Lady's Challenge - StampIt
The Stampman - Anything Goes - With Summer Colours

I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting today

Snippets Challenge

A second very late post from me, this one is for Jules Crafty Snippet Challenge, Everything on the card, apart from the flower, has come from my box of off cuts, again I have joined three silver bits of card for the backing and covered the join with ribbon.  It's a bit fiddly, but a terrific way of not wasting expensive mirri card.  The image was in a box of  dozens of digi stamps, I tend to print off a page of the same image when I want to use a digi.  The box is almost full, cos I keep forgetting to look in it when I want an image and end up printing off even more lol.  I coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is computer generated.

I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting

Less is More -Flags

Good Afternoon from a very wet and miserable Shetland, we are certainly not having a summer here.  I have two cards today for this week's Less is More Challenge - Colours of you Nation's Flag.  First off I have to apologise to Mandi for bothering her with a stupid question, I must learn to read things thoroughly before jumping in with my two left feet!  I almost failed my driving theory test because I didn't read the questions properly.

On to my cards, I am English but have lived longer in Scotland than I have in England and I am married to a Scotsman, so I have gone with the Scottish Flag of  Blue and White.  When I finished it I didn't think the blue was dark enough to represent the Saltire, but as it's the right blue for our Shetland Flag I am still posting it.  The images on both cards are from Fantastic Florals Unmounted Plate from Chocolate Baroque.  For this card  I used the resist technique by stamping and embossing with white embossing powder and then using cut and dry foam I added the blue using DI Faded Jeans and Adirondack Stonewash, the sentiment is printed directly to the card.

For the second card I stamped another of the stamps with Versamark and embossed with white ep, had a few probs with this one, because I was working in artificial light on pearlised card and ended up with lots of white speckles.  I got there in the end.  The sentiment was also stamped and embossed with white ep.

Many thanks for visiting today and I hope you like my cards and thank you in advance for any comments you may wish to make.

First Ever

Good Afternoon, I haven't got a card to share today, but I do have my First Ever Scrapbook Page.  This week Rainbow Lady's Challenge is Island Paradise.  As I live on an island I thought it would be good to do something with Shetland Pictures, so I decided to make a scrapbook page.  I used Craft Artist for the layout and verse and  printed the main picture of Stuart and Kayla (grandchildren) onto photopaper so that  I could 3d it.  They were here for a holiday in 2009 and we had  glorious weather, so we went to one of many fabulous beaches here in the Northern Isles - St Ninian's Isle.  The picture in the bubble is an image of the same place that I found, courtesy of Google.

I started using pictures of shells, but then remembered that I found a bag in my local craft shop and couple of months back.  I bought them thinking they might come in useful at some point, and they did.

I quite enjoyed creating this piece, and might even look out some other pics of the little ones and have another go.  I hope you like my page and many thanks for visiting

Bah Humbug!

Good Afternoon from a very wet Shetland.  My card to share today is for this week's Bah Humbug Challenge - White on White.  It's a very simple card that didn't take very long to make, in fact it might just be my card to send to extended family and friends this year.  The embossed baubles is a Papermania Embossing Folder and the sentiment is from a Crafts Too embossing folder.  I used some gold mirri for matting and the ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting.

Snippets Day

Good Evening, my card to share today is for Jules Crafty Snippets Challenge.   The silver mirri is made up from 3 strips of left overs, the smallest being just the width of the ribbon so the joins don't show.  The bp is two strips of DCWV left overs and joined together with the green cs.  Not sure where that came from, just found it in my box and realized it was the right colour.  The image is Elusive Images (now Chocolate Baroque)  I used Versamark and Stickum Powder to get a sticky surface in order to use this lovely silver/multi glitter from Debbi Moore.  The corners are a Cuttlebug die, the ribbon was lying at the bottom of my ribbon box  and the sentiment was computer generated.  I have got masses of different white card offcuts so I have started using removable glue tape and sticking these bits to a piece of cheap copy printer so that I can use them in my printer to make sentiments.

I am also entering my card into the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes

Must try and do this more often, it really is surprising what you can do with all of those offcuts.  I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting

Bling

Good Evening, my card to share today is for this week's challenge at CD Sunday - Bling It Up.  The image is from Debbi Moore's Summerbreeze CD, the ovals were cut with a Marianne Creatable Die and then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, the cs is Papermania, the bp was a free download from Craft Creations, all the gems came from my stash and the flowers are from Wild Orchid.  It doesn't show up very well, but I have glittered her dress, a la Debbi Moore, with my Quicking Glue Pen and a pot of glitter.  I am also entering my card into Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 112, and Crafty Ann's Challenge - Summertime...and the living is easy.
