Bethany's Birthday

Hello, my card today is one that I made for my eldest grand-daughter for her 15th birthday last week - the red head in the top family pic. I forgot to take a picture of it, so got her mum to take and send one to me when I discovered that this weeks challenge on Papertake Weekly is for Black and White + One, because this cards fits that challenge very well. The image is from Joanna Sheen's Dancing With Shadows cd, the backing paper is from Artylicious, the card itself and all the matting is my last couple of peices of Tapestry Card, this is a really beautiful embossed card that I got from Joanna Sheen - must get some more. The ribbon came from my stash and I added a bright pink Flora Doodle Peony to finish off. I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting my blog and for the wonderful comments you leave, they really make my day. Beryl x

Bad Blogger

Hi Folks, sorry I have been a really bad blogger lately. Not only have I not posted anything new, but also, have not been blog hopping. I have been busy making quite a few cards, but have not taken pics of most of them, and couldn't manage to get any to fit in with challenges.

Today's card is one I made for my youngest grand-daughter who was 2 at the beginning of this month (the little one in the bottom family pic). I used an early Sharon Duncan cd - Candy Girls which I have had for ages and never managed to use. The backing paper, image and flowers all come from the cd, the matting cs and glitter are from my stash and the alphabet is a Sizzlits one. I hope you like it and many thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and leave comments, especially with me being such a bad blogger.

Pretty Lady

I am posting early today because I am going to Aberdeen on the overnight ferry for a couple of days - back on Friday Morning. It's very windy at the moment, and I am hoping that it's not strong enough to cancel the sailing, but it will be bumpy. Got my book, mp3 player, Nintendo ds and travel sickness pills, so it won't be a problem.
Onto today's card which is hopefully for two challenges: Rainbow Lady's Challenge "The Rose" and The Pink Elephant which is a colour challenge this week, Red, Yellow, Black and White. I am hoping that the golden colour on the backing paper will qualify as yellow. The image and backing paper is from The ArtDeco cd from Card Creations+, I love this cd. I have added a spray of red roses and a red ribbon. Everything is mounted onto matt gold card and black, I hope you like my card and thank you so much for dropping by.

Card for a bowler

Today's card is for a bowler. I picked up this Jolly Nation Die Cut decoupage earlier this year at my local craft shop, because my Mum and Step-dad are very keen bowlers and thought they would come in useful. The backing papers are from the Joanna Sheen/Pamela West cd and the background for the bowler is one from the Charmed Cards Girls about Town. Thanks for dropping by today and for any comments you may wish to make. I appreciate every single one. Beryl x

Shopping

Hi, today's card is for a lady who loves shopping! I decided that the Charmed Cards download Girls about Town would be perfect for this. I started by trying to colour in the image and then cut it out - hard work and a couple of disasters lol. I then put my thinking cap on and opened a background and a coloured lady in Paint Shop Pro and managed to marry the two images together without too much hard work. The layout is taken from a sketch for the Joanna Sheen forum August card swap. The papers are Funky Fairys again. I didn't have the right colour ribbon so I coloured some white with a Promarker added Flora Doodles and some sticky gems from my stash and hopefully the lady will love it. Thanks for dropping by today and for any comments you may wish to make. Beryl x

Card for a Fisherman

Hi, today's card is one I was asked to make for a fisherman. The images are from a See Dee's set that I have had for ages, coloured in with Promarkers. The bp is Funky Fairys - I love their downloads they are just great and you never run out of your favourite. I hope you like my card and as always many thanks for dropping by and for any comments you may wish to make. Beryl x

A Double First

Unfortunately it's not a 'double first degree', bit too old for that now lol. My card is for Friday Sketchers No.68. The image is Joanna Sheen's Dr.Lofty and it is the first time I have used any of these stamps. I bought the complete set when they were first launched a couple of months back. I have coloured in with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils blended with Sansodor, this is my other first. I have had a few practise runs but most of those have ended up in the bin! The pills and prescription are part of the Doctor Lofty sheet. The papers are Funky Fairy and the contrasting card and gold mirror came from my stash. The text is computer generated. The card is for my uncle who is in hospital after being stung by a bumble bee a couple of weeks back, and appears to be having a delayed allergic reaction. So I thought Doctor Lofty would cheer him up. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for the lovely comments you leave. They really make my day. Beryl

Thursday 3 September 2009

Hello, I haven't managed to get a challenge card done today, so I thought I would share this one which I made for a customer last week. As you can see, it's for a 50th Birthday. The image and backing papers are from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Birthdays CD, it's not on her website at the moment, so not sure if she has discontinued it. I have borrowed this from my youngest daughter. I have used the Cuttlebug Birthday Embossing Folder on copper Stardream for added interest and the matting and layering is all copper stardream and gold mirrorboard. Thank your for visiting my blog and for any comments you may wish to make. I appreciate every single one. Beryl x

Just in time

Hi, I have just managed to scrape into Rainbow Lady's Challenge this week which is to use acetate on our projects. I have stamped the butterfly onto acetate and glittered its wings, I have then added flat backed black pearls for the body. I am combining this challenge with Sketch66 for Sketch Saturday. The image is Judikins, bp is Artylicious and everything else is from my craft box. I'm sorry the pic isn'tr very clear, not sure what happened. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for any comments you may wish to make. I appreciate every single one. Beryl x

Oranges and Lemons

Hi, I am hoping my card will qualify for the SketchandStash No.18 this week. I haven't got anything brand new on my card but I have used my latest Cute Daisy May which I have only used once before, coloured with Promarkers, and my Martha Stewart punch is also quite new. The forgotten stash is the jewelled brads which I have had for well over a year. I printed some card with a Funky Fairys design and the patterned paper is Papermania. Thank you so much for visiting today, and for any comments you may wish to make. Every one is very much appreciated. Beryl x
